Oh, crap towns and water levels

12 July 2013

Oh dear, how sad. what a pity, never mind!  A book is being released called Crap Towns Returns and it list the worst 100 towns in the UK to live in.  Dorktown is in it and even gets mentioned on the front cover.  But is the town really that bad?  I don't think so, and regular readers know I'm not great lover of the place.  The thing is with any so-called factual book, is that you need to read it critically; by that I mean to read it looking for the evidence they have used to come to their conclusion.  Reading it that was you have to question what criteria has been used seeing as Stratford on Avon and Leamington Spa are also listed, as is Glastonbury and Chipping Norton.  No doubt there are similar reactions in all 100 towns on the list; but hang on a mo ... can you think of a better way to boost your sales figures?  Locally in 100 towns across the UK there is likely to be a sales on run on it.  Very clever!

This will be a short bog today seeing as I still have loads to do ready for our friends to arrive later today.  So today's photo is of the stream that runs not far from us here in our flat ...

As you can see, the water level is well down compared with how high it was running not so long ago.  However, Severn Trent Water is saying that their reservoirs are full ... BUT ... we still need to be careful on how much water we use.  I don't really trust any of the water companies these days.  They are always on the lookout for an excuse to increase their charges.

And today's funny ...

She was so blonde ... At the bottom of the application where it says "sign here," she put "Sagittarius."
