Busy, busy and busy

7 June 2012

What a busy day!  Up at 8.30 (normally the middle of the night for us), started sorting stuff out.  First appointment at 10.30 for an estimate on removal costs, followed by a phone call asking if I could do the viewing a bit earlier.  I was there for 11.30 ... and I have signed for our new flat.  That's just 8 days from expressing interest to signing the tenancy agreement, not bad at all.  Got to see Jan at 3.159(ish).  Left her at 4pm got a call when I got to the car and sat there talking to the estate agent about her visit at 1pm tomorrow.  From there to a carpet centre to arrange for estimates of two new carpets in the flat and then out to a camping shop to get two nice chairs for use in the rear communal garden.  Now I'm in and can relax a wee bit for the rest of the day.

Jan is much better today.  She is hoping to leave hospital either tomorrow or early next week.  She excited about the flat and wants to go and see it as soon as she can.  That is partly why I went to the chairs today.  A spare kettle and some coffee and so on will be there and we can sit and have a brew when we get there.

If the rest of the country has had the same amount of rain as Dorktown has had today, then the drought should be lifted soon.  On the way out to Jacksons just now all the normal flood areas are well flooded after today's downpour.  I hope it will be better tomorrow.

Today's photo ...

is a shiny bit on a Kwaker bike ... very nice it was too. And just look at that sky!

And a funny ...

After the party, as the couple was driving home, the woman asks her husband, "Honey, has anyone ever told you how handsome, sexy and irresistible to women you are?"
The flattered husband said, "No, dear they haven't."
The wife yells, "Then what the heck gave you THAT idea at the party tonight?"
