Got lost somewhere betwix here n there ... ... ...

18 December 2011
Good morning dear readers.  Somehow I have managed to get lost in my direction of where I'm going and why I'm going there.  Basically, I'd lost all interest in doing anything on the 'puter other than posting real ale pumps signs on Flickr and reading emails.  I've only replied to one and that one was to me old mate Bill Howe who has done another good job of proofreading for me - so thanks for that Bill.

Jan went off to see her sister in her new car yesterday and had a nice easy drive there and back with a good four hours wife Trish in between.  While she was out gallivanting I took a ride into Dorktown for a look at the market again.  I took me camera and 300mm lens so that I could get some more candid shots. , All I got a wet camera and some dodgy shots of more real ale pump signs.  For the first time in some months I went into the Felix Holt on Strafford Street and wished I hadn't.  There was a group of folks sat on one table, around 10 of them I think.  One of them certainly thought himself king of pile and kept on making wisecracks and laughing.  It was quickly noticeable that not only was he the only was he the only one laughing, the others didn't seem at all impressed with him, let alone laughing with him.  It's the sort of thing that seems to go on in that pub but not in Whetherspoons other place, The William White.  That's why I prefer the Willy White.  Whatever, I put up with it and a pint of Sleigh Bells, a nice dark ale, I also had an All Day Brunch.  I didn't need anything else to eat yesterday after that!

After that, it was off back home to sit and read the paper I had bought and a magazine, Bird Watching that I have on subscription.  I bought two other magazines off a market stall that sells out of date mags for a £1 a pop.  By out of date, I'm not talking of months and months old.  I'm talking of December  issues now that the January issues are on sale in Smudges place and so on.  They are not bad value for money if you are careful what you buy. I got Computer active mags, one of them being the Ultimate Guide to Home PC Security which was selling £5.99 in Smudges.  It had still got the CD on it too!  I also buy copies of some of the photo-press mags from there too and will start to keep my eye open for copies of Birdwatch now that my subscription has stopped.

There's a photo of a woman pushing her bike in heavy snow in Buxton.  She's covered in the stuff.  I'm glad I'm not living there right now.  We had a slight dusting last night and as Jan left for church there was a slight drizzle which was quickly washing the dusting away.  At one time the cold never used to worry me at all.  Now I feel the slightest chill.  Jan was the opposite and used to feel even the slightest drop in temperature.  Now it Jan who can tolerate the cold better than I can - although, if she got stuck out in cold weather she would feel it just like any of us.  Anyway, I have a way to keep her warm ... now now, none of that you lot at the back!!!  I'm talking of a milky coffee!  We both like that.

So then, just 7 days to go.  Are you all ready with everything in for a festive Crimble?  No?  Well, you need to get a wobble on then folks.  We shall be out tomorrow for our last shopping day and what we haven't got, we'll make do without.  I was going to have a nice bottle of malt but have decided against it.  I'll make do with our shared bottle of Black Tower on Crimble Day.

Well, that's for today guys n gals ... ... ...
