It’s
already started folks … http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/generalelection/hours-after-the-election-the-dwp-says-it-is-looking-to-cut-a-disabled-access-to-work-scheme-10237191.html There is no way the Tories didn’t know about
this before the election campaign began. Both Cameron and IDS both said that
they hadn’t made any plans where the welfare cuts would be made. Liars! Both of
them! DWP wouldn’t have released that article without government go-ahead. They
knew well ahead and refused to say so. Why? Simple, they might not have won if
they had. It doesn’t bode well for the next five years folks, it really doesn’t.
Health
scares come and go on a regular basis and the saturated fats one has been a
long standing one. But is it really true? Thursday night on the Tonight show on ITV, claims were being
made by some people that sat foods are actually not as bad first thought. Volunteers
were put on a one week high fat diet and most of them managed to lose weight
and reduce their cloistral levels. So what is the true on this? What I did
notice as I sat watched the recording yesterday afternoon was the lack of use
of one word; balance. I remember hearing it just once towards the end.
We
all need some fat in our diet, just not in huge quantities. And that is where
some people will latch on to the show and claim fat won’t hurt them. These
folks aren’t twisting words to their own usage as such, but just hearing what
they want to hear. There are others who just don’t understand what it is they
are hearing.
An
example of that is that 30-odd years ago I was in a pub called the Board, it’s
not there now. Anyway, there was a guy in the bar going on about a telly show the
night before in which prostitutes spoke about what their clients liked. One of
them said that he liked her to wear ‘kid’ gloves, as his mother did when she
was going out to concert and called into the see him before she went out. Back
to the guy the pub now … what he was saying was that girl had said she had to
wear kids’ gloves. A total lack of understanding what was said.
OK
then, in view of the ‘fat’ issue then, I personally don’t like loads of fat
anyway. If I do have a steak of a pork chop I never eat any of the visible fat.
Same with cooked ham for a butty, I always cut out the fat from that too. So
for today’s photo, here’s what I had for dinner one night ...
steak, baked tattie, fried egg and mushrooms … very nice too.
Today’s
funny …
