Busy day today

29 February 2012

Here it is, 4.30pm and I've only just managed to get sat at me 'puter.  This morning we did a tip run with an old armchair that was getting in the way,  After that it was over to Hilltop garden Centre in Shilton for 3 bags of compost and two large plant pots.  After lunch I got myself out into town to get and eye test and buy the latest AP.  I was in the consulting room for over 45 minutes.  Now I have to go to the Walsgrave because of some floaters I reported.  Ah well, I shall go on Friday, we're off out tomorrow - Minsmere for some birding.

An area of Dorktown is to have £1 million spent on it over the next 10 years.  How £100K per year is going to help the place I don't know.  A lot of the problems there is due to the council housing a lot of problem families there.  The extra dosh will make no difference to them.  Apparently the dosh has come from the Big Lottery fund which a new idea dreamed up by someone with nowt else to do.

Market day today and I ended up falling out with one of the stall holders.  They start packing up at around 3.45 so that when the barriers drop at 4pm they can get their vans in and cleared up and away.  However, one prat decided it was OK to park across the dropped curb.  I politely asked him to move back so I could get down and he refused saying I could get down by fighting my way through the other vans waiting to get in there.  he just couldn't see that what he had done was wrong.  I was tempted to call the cops and get him sorted but decided it wasn't worth the hassle ... this time at least!

Yesterday afternoon I gave up on the writing.  I just couldn't settle to it at all.  That is a first for me.  Normally when I sit down to it I get on without bother.  What was wrong yesterday I don't know.  I'll be trying again later today.  Maybe not though, we have things to watch on Catch-up TV.

For today's photo I'm going for this one ...

Felixstowe beach on a nice sunny day.

The Sage has just sent me this one ... it's great - honestly ;-)))

With the high rate of attacks on women in secluded carparks ... Especially during evening hours ... The  Edinburgh City Council has established a 'Women Only' carpark at the Tesco shopping centre. Even the parking attendants are exclusively female so that a comfortable and safe environment is created for patrons.

Below is the first picture available of this world-first women-only parking lot in   Edinburgh  !
