Day off tomorrow ...

15 November 2011

Tomorrow I will be having a blog-free day.  Jan and I are off to do some birding for the first time a long time.  We will be off to Gibraltar Point just outside Skegness for the first time.  We've been to Skeggy many times before but not to do ant birding there.  With a bit of luck we shall have a good day out!

I went off for a ride round town on my scooter this afternoon.  The main reason for it was to get me some fresh fruit; I eat loads of the stuff and I've run out.  So I got a few mags from Smudges; some fat cakes and fat cake feeders from Wilko; some batches from the butcher we use; and finally some milk and odds from Iceland.  In the Willy White I had an orange juice and lemonade.  I sat and watched what I thought was going to be full blown fight on Queens Road.  Arriving back home Jan says, "Where's the fruit then?"  Opps - we'll get some on the way home tomorrow ... unless we forget again ;-)))

There's a specialist Nikon dealer in London called Grays of Westminster and I would love to visit it one day.  Anyway, they advertise regularly in Amateur Photographer and this week's ad is for a rather special Nikkor lens.  It's a 14mm f5.6 fisheye lens with a 180O viewing angle and was produced in either 1972 or 1984.  As they were made to order only 350 were ever made; the price?  A snip at £25,000!  I'd have two but I use Sony not Nikon ;-)))  Mind you, that is pretty cheap.  A couple of years ago Warehouse Express were offering a 1200mm Canon for £72,000!  Now that is a lens I can do without - even if I was a Canon user!

Oh yes, while I was out I had a Nikon Coolpix P100 with me and had a go at the video function.  What I'm looking to do eventually is to produce a couple of videos to go with my two books.  The idea is to post them on UTUBE as an ad for them.  I shall be making a start on my new website in the next few days too.  The vids will be on there as well with a link to UTUBE.  Getting excited now ... ... ...
