A song, thugs and Windows

21 August 2012

Oh dear ... I forgot Jan's birthday today ... opps.  She has been dropping heavy hints for the last two weeks too.  It wasn't till she began singing Happy Birthday that I remembered.  How old is she?  Well, let's just say she is as old her tongue and bit older than her teeth ;-)))

Did you know that Microsoft are bringing out yet another version of Windows?  Windows 8 goes on sale on 26 October with an upgrade from 7 priced at £27.  Progress goes on but is there really a need for yet another new version?  Windows 7 hasn't been out all that long has it.  At a price of only £27 for an upgrade I'm wondering just how much difference there will be between 7 and 8.  It may have been better for users if they had done the differences as an upgrade pack for 7 ... but there again, they would get the £27 then would they?  Do they actually need the money so desperately?  I think not!

A murder investigation is ongoing after a 90 year old lady died after her home was invaded and searched for valuables.  These thugs are very hard aren't they?  They pick on old and vulnerable people who can't fight back.  They are seen as  being easy targets.  I wonder just how many of them are found and taken to court.  If they are the do-gooders and liberals will stand up in court and claim that the defendant can't be treated harshly because s/he is a victim of his circumstances.  Pity they don't feel the same sort of sympathy for the thug's victims.

I'm rather disappointed in the photos I got on Saturday.  Here's the only one I thought worth while ...

It is of an old light house on the coast at the Wetlands Centre.  A local radio club uses it for playing with friends around the world, or at least in Europe.  It takes all sorts I suppose.  The other shots I've kept are a lot of pub signs and real ale pump signs.  Like I said, 'it takes all sorts' ;-)))
