It's raining here in Dorktown. The clouds as low, think and grey making it very dark and dismal. There's not even any birds visiting the feeders this morning. It's much too dark to try any photography today so I shall be leaving the camera at home when I go out later ... or maybe not. When I do leave it behind I usually wish I had taken with me. We'll see ... ... ...
This morning's News has a number of locals who have received New Years Honours. I'm not sure if I'm impressed or not. Not being a Royalist I tend to find such things a bit tacky and presumptuous. And of course you do know what MBE and OBE stands for don't you? My Bloody Efforts and Other's Bloody Efforts. Our one time GP got a MBE for services to medicine for the work he'd done as a diabetic specialist. OK, but he didn't accept that I had it for around 8 years and it was finally found after I was taken ill in Mallorca on holiday!
Vampire Hall at the Hussy Hospital is changing is method of working in an effort to reduce waiting times for blood tests. How on earth they expect to do that when they are reducing the opening hours I don't know. Some prat is actually being paid for thinking up this crap! Nice work if you can get it eh!
At long last I managed to get some work done a Happyman yesterday afternoon. I had been stuck as to where to take it next but I forced myself to sit and get some done and it all came together. 1500 words done and I can now get from the slower part of the story and start to pick up the pace again. I have a number of threads there all waiting to come together for what I hope will be a big bang towards the end.
Well, things to do place to go so I must be off.
