A hot war and a war of words
8 September
Yesterday’s blog was ready for posting part from the funny needing to
added, so I tried logging in using the usual wi-fi, but this wee lappy decided
it didn’t want to play. Jan was connected so it had to be this one. It took me
ages to sort out an either net cable and connect in that way. I’ve not tried
the wi-fi again this morning yet but will do so later once this one is on its
way and posted.
How much longer is the war in Syria going to go on for I wonder? Aleppo hardly
has any buildings standing undamaged, and Damascus people are walking about
causally eating ice cream. As long as Assad remains in power the war will
continue. He deigns using chemical weapons, but again we see pictures of the
affects they are having on the people. Western powers helped topple Gadhafi, so
why not Assad?
It is because he backed by Russia and any such attack would lead to a greater
war breaking out? Some time ago I wrote how dangerous a man Putin is, the
Syrian situation shows he hasn’t changed any. That man is an elected dictator
who using bullying to get what he wants. Every time anyone says anything
negative about Russia, he blames the West for being anti-Russia. Like all bullies
he blames anyone else without looking at his own actions as being at fault. I
fear we will have more such flash-points as long as that man runs Russia. Have
we really not learned the lessons of the 1930s?
‘BREXIT means BREXIT,’ says our new prime muppet. Good on her I say. Regular
readers will know I’m not lover of the tories, but come on, give the woman a
chance guys! Anyone who any common sense will know she is not going to playout
the plan for our negotiations for us all to see, and thereby giving the other
27 states the opportunity to counter them before we raise them.
As for a running commentary on them while they ongoing, how long will it
be before they start bellyaching about getting bored with it. Such a commentary
wouldn’t really help anyway. Let’s face it, we all see things differently and
we want to show our own side in the best of light. I do agree that we should
invoke Article 50 as soon as we can though. At least at that point the EU will
know we are serious.

Wife: Shall I give that tramp one
of these cakes that I just baked?
Husband: Why, what harm has he ever done us?
