A day in Brum, a moronic Woollyback and and don't forget!

15 October 2012

For most of last week I had been looking forward to going out yesterday.  When I got up however, I felt pretty well drained and really didn't feel like going out at all.  Jan pointed out that when I've felt like that before and did go out I usually had  a good day.  She was right, I did go out, to Brum and I did have a good day really.  I actually went along a couple of city centre streets off New Street that I hadn't been down before and there I found three pubs I hadn't seen or knew about.  One of them had 15 real ales on sale ... I thought I was in heaven!  I was driving though so I made do with just two pints of a rather nice mild though.

So what is happening in Dorktown today?  If I was to believe the Dorktown News, not much.  Most of it today was about Hinckley over in Woolyback country or in North Warwickshire towns and villages.  One of the Woolyback stories is about a teenager who broke into rape a 91 year old woman.  I've no idea what goes the heads of these morons, I really don't!  Whatever, this moron has been given an 'undetermined' sentence at court but will not be considered for parole for four years.  44 years would be more appropriate to my mind.

Some folks in Scotland want independence?  Well, let them go - but without anything that had been provided by BRITISH money.  Borders would need to be closed and they will have to get Scottish passports to enter England.  Those Scots who currently live in England would have to apply to remain here along with a work permit to continue working here.  Oh yes, just think of all the tax payers money that we will save when the send all the Scots now serving in English prisons are sent back home.  Why should we be expected to keep them after independence?  Of course Daft David would meet one of his aims at reducing the number of Muppet Persons sitting on their lazy backsides in Westminster by getting shut of all the Scottish Muppet Persons.

A first photo from yesterday for today then ...

St Basils on Heath Mill Lane in Birmingham.  We have been passing this church every time we've driven into Brum for years and years but I only noticed it earlier this year.  Yesterday I remembered to drive home past it so as to get a shot of it.  It is right in the middle of an industrial area so I wonder just how large a congregation it gets.

So for today's funny ...

An elderly couple had dinner at another couple's house, and after eating, the wives left the table and went into the kitchen.
The two gentlemen were talking, and one said: 'Last night we went out to a new restaurant and it was really great... I would recommend it very highly..'
The other man said, 'What is the name of the restaurant?'
The first man thought and thought and finally said, 'What is the name of that flower you give to someone you love?
You know.... the one that's red and has thorns.'
'Do you mean a rose?'
'Yes, that's the one,' replied the man. He then turned towards the kitchen and yelled, 'Rose, what's the name of that restaurant we went to last night?'
