Delivery, Jan's improvements and justice for sale.

Today we are stuck in waiting for a delivery. We had hoped to get in to town on our scooters earlier than this (11.50 right now) but we will have to make do with a shorter time out now. But maybe it might be doing us a favour really. This will be Jan's first day out on her scooter since the stroke. One thing we don't want is for her to overdo it and put her in the Hussey!

Over all though, Jan is doing very well, apart from her swallowing. She is still finding hard to swallow anything with any bulk to it. For easy yesterday I opened a can of meatballs and made some mashed potatoes for dinner. OK, not very imaginative but she did manage to eat most of it, simply because it was so soft and easy to chew and swallow.

Her right leg is still very heavy to move as well. It is getting easier but very slow. She can walk, just and slowly using her walking stick, but she finds it very frustrating and tiring. Jan will get there and be able to walk as normal sooner or later though. She will be very pleased when she is.    

I must admit that I getting fed-up to the back teeth with the murder trial in South Africa! Why should it be of such interest to here in the UK? There are enough murders here in the UK that don't get any publicity at all. Is it just because the accused is a celebrity? So what? Currently we have a trail on-going here in the UK that should be of much more interest to us all. How many of us have sat and wondered when the claws of News International would be drawn I wonder? Well, they have been and I for one am very pleased to see some of the people who thought that they and their presses were above the law and untouchable. They have behaved in a despicable manor many years, using fear as their weapon of choice. Now it's time for them to be afraid!

Of course, with both of these cases they have money to pay for a top class defence team; not so most members of the public who are hauled up into court and have to fight to prove their innocence. Take the Muppet Person who has just been cleared of rape and indecent assault charges for example. He is facing financial ruin because of his trail. That is simply because he earns more than the permitted amount for legal aid to be claimed. So the law can be bought it seems.

Today we will be heading into the Felix Holt in town ...

After yesterday's mess about over the funny, the Sage has spoken words enough for several days ...

 After his examination the doctor asked the elderly man: "You appear to be in good health. Do you have any medical concerns you would like to ask me about?"
"In fact, I do," said the old man. "After I have sex with my wife, I am usually cold and chilly, and then, after I have sex with her the second time, I am usually hot and sweaty."
Later, after examining his elderly wife, the doctor said: "Everything appears to be fine. Do you have any medical concerns that you would like to discuss with me?" She replied that she had no questions or concerns.
The doctor then said to her: "Your husband had an unusual concern. He claims that he is usually cold and chilly after having sex with you the first time, and then hot and sweaty after the second time. Do you know why?
"Oh that crazy old man," she replied. "That's because the first time is usually in January and the second time is in August."
