Guess who
is here again? We have Kile again. He went home on Saturday cos he had a
Christening to go to, but in reality he wasn’t all the keen. Jan met up with
him and his mum at Asda this morning, just as was planned and promised. So now
we have him until Thursday morning.
We are
now feel like wearing sunglasses in here now the scaffolding has been taken
down. We knew that it had cut down the natural light we had in here but once it
came down, and with such strong sunlight out there, we can really see just how
much. The guys out there have really got on with things; they’re not sluggards
anyway but there seems to have been a bit argy-bargy going with the guys at
some point earlier. The site manager has been round quite a bit today, whereas
he only came round a couple of times a day before. Whatever, not our concern,
seeing the job almost finished is a good sign for us to see.
For
months now we haven’t had the grass out back cut because of all the work. Well,
the council sent their guys around today; I was half expecting it at some time
this week seeing as the scaffolding is all gone out back now. Hopefully it won’t
be long before are all sorted out there – just in time for our new kitchen
being done.
What is
happening in the world today I wonder? I’ve not seen the news yet today because
we had a DVD on, The Mummy 3. It’s a
load of hocus pocus of course where the good guys win and the bed guys all get
sorted. Towards the end I suggested to Jan that I didn’t think there would be
one, but at the end of 3, Johnathan says he’s off to Peru with a massive
diamond. Then there was a small subtitle saying that a lot of mummies had been
found in Peru. Will there be another one? Not sure, the actor who played O’Connell’s
wife in #1&2 has already jumped ship. But of course, there’s their son Alec
to carry on … … …
Yesterday
we watched the last of Series 4 of Game
of Thrones. It leaves a lot of questions unanswered so there is more to
come. Jan has already read the first seven books and says that the where the
story ended is not at the end of #7. I saw something on Facebook too where the
actor playing Tryion said he was waiting to see if his role would be killed off
in the next book. However, Mr Martin is playing with them with the release of
the next book. That one is a long way head on my reading list anyway, so I’m
not bothered about it.
Something
else we watched yesterday was a Channel 5 show about people being too fat to
work. They looked at three people yesterday, one who had a work accident and is
due to have stomach banding or whatever it is. Another is a young man who was
working up to six months before the show was recorded; he at least was actually
out there looking for a job. The third one is one of the most selfish people I
have ever heard of.
She
claims to be ill and gets loads of benefits because of it, including DLA/PIP.
She’s married and her uni educated hubby is her carer. Even so nothing is right
for her and picks fault with everything. What really bug me was that he finally
got her to walk down to the local shop with him, the first time she had been
out of the house in eight months. Not sure if she claims the mobility component
of the allowances but she can walk a hell of lot better than I can. She is the
type of person who gives all genuine claimants a bed name.
So, today’s
photo …
In step and hand.
Today’s
funny …
Jesus argued a lot with the Chief Priests and
Democrats. He had twelve opossums. Most of them were good, but Judas Asparagus
was not. He was so bad, they named a really yucky vegetable after him.
