The
workmen arrived as promised and on time, at 1pm. Now all we have is an almost
empty room with a sink unit and taps. Even the tiled floor has gone. Today we
expect to see the plumber, again at 1pm. Well, after they left I sat thinking
about it. The letter we had explaining it all said that we would not see
workers all day every day. That seems more than a bit draft to me. If the first
lot arrived at say, 8am, the plumber at 11am, the sparky at say, 2pm, it all
would go a lot smoother and quicker. I think so anyway.
Last
night I settled down at around 12.15. I don’t know if it’s my mind playing
silly bs or what, but straight away my back began hurting. The last few times
we have been out, I’ve had a feeling of dampness at the bottom of my right
buttock and round between my legs. Jan has checked in as I walk in front of her
and there is no dampness, but it’s damned uncomfortable. I got that same
sensation last night in bed for the first time. Overall it makes me more
concerned as to what this ‘fatty lump’ is and what it’s doing to me. I can now
say I’m starting to get slightly worried.
The Hussy
was on Midlands Today again last night, along with two others asking for fewer
people to arrive at A&E, that only really sick and injured people should go
there. It seems the three hospitals are struggling to manage with the added
numbers attending. This was predicted of course and if it was just the odd one
or two, there really wouldn’t be any need for concern. However, it’s not just
the odd one or two is it? It’s happening all over the country. That seems to
show a serious problem within the system and we hear the same reason from the
hospitals, not enough staff, difficulty in recruiting more, various training
bodies claiming the figures in training are being cut/falling, and of course,
lack of funds.
Sometime
ago I wrote about the fine system that the hospitals had to deal with. In that
one hospital is ‘fined’ for some failing, yet the money isn’t repaid, no, it’s
taken from one sector and given to another sector. This system is absurd waste
of time, effort and even more money in administering it. It’s no wonder the
whole system is in a mess with this happening. What it doesn’t taken into
account is that some people have conditions that can’t be treated by just one
visit to A&E. So when they turn up again for the same problem within a set
time scale, the fine kicks in. How stupid is that? Can you think of anything
more stupid that taking funds from a struggling service and giving them to
another part of the service? Come on, where’s the common sense.
It doesn’t
matter who was in power when the decline set in, the man at the top is the one
who faces the blame, just as he gets all the glory when things go well. And
that of course goes for everything the government does. Daft Dave is that man
right now. He showed his daftness yesterday when he announced draft agreement
on an EU agreement he is talking credit for (see above). I’m sure that he isn’t
all that happy about it seeing as it doesn’t give anywhere near to the promises
he made for last year’s election. But of course he has to put on a positive
show, without it he’s out, and he knows that!
No matter
what he manages to claw from the other member states, it will never be enough
to satisfy the large number of people who want out of the EU, me included. And
the sooner the better for me. There are cries that the EU would collapse if the
UK withdrew for it, that the Euro would be a failure, and so on … But you know
what? I don’t believe a word of it. What is really at stake is the £100k+
salaries and the vast gravy train that is all part of it. What we here are the voices
of fear and concern from vested interests. We saw and heard all this over the
hunting ban years ago; when it came in, the promised loss of jobs didn’t happen;
the mass slaughter of hounds didn’t happen; the loss of the countryside way of
life didn’t happen, and so on. Of course voices will be raised that you can’t
compare the two, but why not? The pros would use it if it fitted their
arguments.
No,
sorry, I don’t but into the EU at all, even if I did vote ‘yes’ to join in the
first place. Tubby Ted was in charge then and it’s been suggested that he not
only knew that eventually there would be closure ties and eventually a united, federal
Europe. It has also been suggested that he lied about it at the time, and
continued through the rest of his life. But you see, what choice did he have? No
choice at all.
Today’s
funny …
What
did the buffalo say when he dropped his boy off at school?
"Bye, son!"
"Bye, son!"
