A dog, a change in the law and mother is fine!

5 January

Yes, I know it's late today, but hey ho, that's life eh. Jan took Kile back home early last week because of a panic that the nurse at the care caused. She phoned us to let us know that mother wasn't so good. Well, Jan went to see her yesterday and she was sat in the dining room waiting for her dinner, so Jan did the feeding letting a staff member to get on with something else. And guess what ... mother was fine and ate a full two course dinner and loved every bit of it.

So the panic is over yet again and we feel relieved by it. Now why is that I wonder. Truth be told, mother has no quality of like at all. She just lies in bed or sits in a chair with all the others and doesn't know anything at all, has no awareness of where she is or why she is there. She can't remember what happened two minutes ago, let alone last week. On top of that she blind and deaf. Would it better for her if she wasn't here anymore? I don't know but I am now getting more and more worried about those who want to legalise euthanasia. If it to become legal I feel that there would be a lot of pressure on families to take that road in cases where like mother, resources could be used in a 'better way'. And that is what my fear is right now.

Some time ago we managed to lose our address book. My uncle Dick and aunty Margaret  with live in the Forest of Dean and he has just phoned us. Like us he too has lost their address book. He sent mother a Christmas card and put their address in that for us. So I wrote him a letter and that's how he got our number. Anyway - he told us that Margaret had been attacked by a great Dane. Margaret is a tiny dot of lady and you know how big those dogs can be. Well, he managed to knocked over and fracture her skull and pelvis, not good on a young person but in a lady in her late 70s, it could have been really drastic. So Dick was driving to see her in hospital and he had a massive heart attack. He didn't sound as well and strong as he normally does so maybe he isn't fully over it yet. It's yet another red letter time in the Clark family!!!

Today's photo is another one of Kile, but this time he is with a young girl he had been playing pool with ...

They had been getting on very well too.

And funny time ...

There are some horrible b*st**ds about. I heard a cat crying outside so I opened the door and four Liverpool fans were playing football with it. I was just about to phone the RSPCA when the cat went 1-0 up.
