We were expecting one of the council repair team to
arrive here this afternoon to fix our leaky toilet, which was fine with us. But
we had a phone call just on 9am to ask if they could come straight away instead.
It’s a good job we agreed seeing as the pan hadn’t been fitted properly in the
first place. Right now we are minus one toilet pan seeing as the plumber has
removed it and has now gone off to get the parts he needs to finish the job.
Once he is done however, it seems that there’s still a lot more work to do
seeing there are additional problems with extractor fan and the shower pump.
The company who installed our new bathroom is well known with repair team for
their shoddy work. Why the council puts up with it I don’t know.
Regular readers will know that I long photo mags, but
there are times when I wonder who they write for. On Facebook this morning that’s
this … http://www.digitalcameraworld.com/2014/04/19/7-daily-exercises-that-will-make-you-a-better-photographer/ They claim seven exercises that make you a
better photographer, oh really? And how many will have the time to actually ‘do’
those exercises I wonder? I certainly don’t. Digital Camera is a good magazine and one I’m tempted to take out a
subscription on, but oh how I wish they would be a tad more realistic in their
advice.
The on-going saga of the NHS is getting more than a
little out of hand my friends. One of the major reasons that A&E is having
such problems is the closure of the walk-in centre around the country. We have
one here in Dorktown in the Camphill area and there’s a public consultation
about closing it. I have to wonder why they are even thing of closing it
considering the national problems.
Another reason for the struggling A&E is the
failure of the NHS 111 advice centre. I gave up calling them after calling them
twice and being told to go to either a GP or A&E. The idea when the 111
systems was set up was to reduce the pressure on A&E, and yet it is actually
increasing it. So many ideas, so many failures. It bugs me when this happens in
the public services. If these people worked in the private sector they wouldn’t
be working there for very long!
It’s always good to get out and about and away from
most of the pressures of day to day life. Here’s one of my favourite places I
like to go to …
The beach at Titchwell marsh. I took this on Saturday when I
was down there with Kile. What attracted me was the clear six levels within the
scene. You can also see Kile in there, or at least his back when he bent over
looking at rock pools.
And for today’s funny …
